Support Services Division
The Technical/Support Services Division, under the command of Captain Jimmy Campbell, encompasses several organizational functions within the department. This Division consists of one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, one Officer, one Records Clerk, and one Municipal Court Clerk. A brief description of each function is described below.
Recruitment
The Technical/Support Services Captain is responsible for coordinating the department’s recruitment efforts with the City’s Human Resources Department in seeking qualified applicants for the Police Department.
Property and Evidence
Lieutenant King is the designated Property and Evidence Custodian. The responsibilities of this assignment include the intake, proper storage, ensuring chain of custody, submittal of evidence to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory, and disposal of all property/evidence. An Officer is assigned to serve as the Property and Evidence Technician.
Technology
The Records Agency Coordinator coordinates all police related technology and is the liaison with the City's IT Department personnel to ensure our department is equipped with the latest computer equipment and software.
Accreditation
The Accreditation Manager has the responsibility of managing the department’s accreditation program and is the department’s liaison with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

D.A.R.E./Community Relations
Officers are assigned to serve as the agency D.A.R.E. Instructors. These Officers also serve as the primary contacts for Community Relation events, including Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Watch.
Records
BPD has a Records Agency Coordinator and a Records Clerk.
Municipal Court
The Municipal Court Clerk assists the judge with matters relating to Municipal Court.
