Hire an Officer
About Hiring an Officer for Your Event
Information on this page pertains to organizations or individuals interested in hiring an extra-duty Brentwood Police Officer to render police-related services, such as traffic control or security.
It is the discretion of the Brentwood Police Department if the request is fulfilled or not, based upon several factors. It is also the discretion of the Brentwood Police Department how many officers are ultimately assigned to fulfill the request; but, every attempt will be made to honor the initial request. Brentwood Police has a minimum staffing level of officers working shift which takes precedence over an extra job assignment. Officers working extra duty assignments are not on-shift personnel. Brentwood Police Officers can only work extra jobs within the city limits of Brentwood, Williamson County, Tennessee. Brentwood Police Officers working extra duty assignments have full police powers within their assigned jurisdiction (city limits of Brentwood, Williamson County, Tennessee) but work and are paid as “individual contractors”. Brentwood Police Officers working extra duty assignments will be in full police department uniform and marked police vehicle unless otherwise specified and approved by the Brentwood Police Department.
All businesses, organizations, or individuals will submit payment directly to the assigned officer via check at the time of the assignment. Delayed payments, whether for payroll purposes or otherwise, must be stated upfront and agreed upon with the Brentwood Police Department supervisor over extra jobs beforehand.
Fees:
· $50/hour per officer
· 4-hour minimum (if your event and request is only for 2-hours, you are still responsible for paying the 4-hour minimum per officer requested)
· If cancellations are made less than 24-hours in advance, you may still be subject to providing payment to the officer dependent on the circumstances surrounding the cancellation
